Private keys are generated on your phone and never leave it. The server only ever sees ciphertext.

Can strangers message me?
No. PHANTOM is invite-only and contacts-only — anyone you haven’t added cannot start a chat or join your groups. That’s why there’s no spam.
Is it really anonymous?
Yes. There’s no phone number, no email, and no signing in with another account. Your identity is just the keys on your device — there’s nothing to hand over.
Is it free?
Yes, completely. No subscription, no ads.
Do I need an invite or a code?
No — just download and start.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet — Android only for now.
What if I lose my phone?
Your identity lives in the keys on your device, so keep a backup from inside the app: Settings → Backup. Without a backup, a lost phone means a new identity.
